  • "First time eating here. My husband and I both had the seafood platter. Mine had mac n cheese with greens, he ordered mac with sweet potato souffle. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. This spot is very elegant and has a downtown Atlanta feel without having to ride 20-30 minutes. We will definitely go at least once a month; great local eats!!!!"

  • We stopped in for lunch and had a wonderful dining experience. The sweet potato muffins were the best muffins that we had ever had. Everything is fresh, and it all tasted that way. I would recommend the salmon patty sandwich and green beans. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. It is refreshing to have a restaurant of this caliber in the Conyers area!

  • We came to this location for brunch on a Sunday and it was lovely. Since we had a large party, it took a little time to get tables coordinated but they were efficient. As we were seated, we had two servers that was waiting on us and their service was really good. They were extremely knowledgeable about menu items and were very organized in getting out our drinks and appetizers.

The complimentary cornbread muffins with the sweet spread were amazing! They are very easy to overeat because you can pop those little muffins into your mouth because they were bit size. Yummy!

The appetizers looked really yummy and they came out fairly quickly for the size party we had. Everything looked scrumptious.

The menu selection is centered on a southern soul food /cajun/seafood fare. Very good mix of comfort foods for your enjoyment. The prices seemed reasonable and not much different from other restaurants such as Copelands or Pappaduex's.

The Sunday brunch offers a live band/singer and it was very nice. Whomever the gentleman was that was performing should receive an Oscars! He had so many voice impersonations, you could have mistaken him for lip singing. Very nice touch for a Sunday brunch.

The food was phenomenal based off of our party's reaction. I truly enjoyed my dish. Although I had leftovers, I couldn't stop eating them once being packed up! The food came out in a timely manner.

This will definitely be a hidden gem for me to return when I'm back in the Conyers area.

  • It's been a while since I've had the experience to write a 5 star review. But this place is more than deserving. From start to finish the customer service was amazing. The hostess greeted us and was very friendly. Our waitress was sweet and came to check on us often and even the manager stopped by twice to speak to us, ask us if it was our first time there, it happens to be our two year anniversary so we talked about that for a minute. Everyone was engaging but not overbearing.

Now the food is another story, it came out quickly! I found this place on yelp so I knew it had good reviews but I wasn't anticipating a perfect meal. I ordered the fried chicken which came with a breast and thigh, Mac and cheese and green beans. The chicken was perfectly flavored, crisp and moist. You know it's easy to dry out the breast but it was amazing. The Mac and cheese could've used a little more salt but that's my personal taste but it was cheesy and warm. The green beans were cooked to perfection, nice and crisp. I hate soggy veggies.

My husband had the chicken and French toast which was a nice variation from the standard chicken and waffle you always see now a days. It had a bourbon syrup and it was fabulous, yes I had a bite that's what wives do lol.

I ordered the chocolate martini and it wasn't watered down like most drinks are. It had shaved pieces of chocolate in the drink which were soaked in the alcohol by the end of my glass that I scooped and ate. I also got the peach cobbler which wasn't good as grandmas and for $7 I could've left that. However the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious and I've already told all my friends on fb about this place. I hope you stick around because it's a gorgeous venue and I plan on returning.

  • The food was wonderful! The wait staff was also really good. My 6 year old ate all of his food, the food of his cousins and his grandmother. I look forward to a return visit the next time I am down south. We had a party of 9 or 10 so I think we had the menu selections well covered. Everything I tasted was delicious.

  • Very nice atmosphere and the food was great...Looking foward to going back to hear the Live Jazz entertainment on Friday and Sat. The blackend salmon was cook to perfection. Their version of Chicken and waffles is a must try.

  • I used to drive past Coaxum's forever until my cousin became a regular and advised me to check it out. Thanks to Yelp we decided to try their Shrimp&Grits and French Toast (Which we were slightly disappointed because it didn't come with the big beautiful flower on top.)I already knew what I wanted but I still wanted to browse the menu. There isn't a very wide selection, but I honestly doubt you can go wrong when deciding on a dish. The food is awesome and our food came within 15 minutes. My shrimp & grits were flavorful but weren't salty. My cousin's French toast had just the right amount of cinnamon and syrup. It wasn't over bearing and went perfectly with the well seasoned chicken strips. The service was nice and I'll definitely recommend everyone to stop by. There's a location coming to Doraville soon also.

  • Another diamond outside of Atlanta. I had the Crawfish pasta and we also had the chowder soup and shrimp and grits. The calamari with tomato fondue sauce was to die for. Truly the best I've ever had.

Everything was fantastic. Food was fresh and came out fairly quickly. The only thing that dampen this experience a little bit was our server, although she was very very nice she was really really slow.

  • Great atmosphere!
    Friendly Staff!
The corn fried oysters and the sweet potato muffins were excellent!
    We wanted seconds of both!

Very unusual menu choices for Conyers Ga!

    See pics of wonderful food!
    BBQ shrimp
    Bourbon Salmon
    3 chez Mac
    Braised greens
    Corn & Lima succotash
    Braised spinach
All were excellent but the greens & salmon were truly top notch, award winning stuff!

This is a very nice restaurant !
Someone who is familiar with New Orleans cuisine might differ but I'll say this ranks right up there with anything you would find on Bourbon Street.

  • This gem of a restaurant is located in Conyers. After hearing rave reviews from colleagues at work, I decided to give it a try. I dined in during lunch time. My selections included the Shrimp & Grits w/ shallots, garlic, and tasso ham and an order of Macaroni & Cheese. For some reason, every time I see Macaroni & Cheese as an offering on ANY menu, I am compelled to order it.

My food was delicious! The portion size was large so I had more than enough to take home for later. I was really impressed when the food was just as tasty the next day! The service was great. Our waiter, I believe his name was Walter, was attentive and accommodating. He explained that several menu items could be modified. At the end of our meal, he even asked to be mentioned on Yelp which I found endearing and not overbearing. I will definitely return. And next time I'll be sure to time my visit more strategically. I look forward to soaking up the sounds of live music while I devour the scrumptious and savory food Coaxum's is known for.

I hope this place stays in business for a long time.

  • "Five stars for Friday nights! I'm not sure if they have a jazz band every night but the band starts around 8:30 on Fridays, and our food was great. Shrimp and grits, fried shrimp, okra, mac and cheese, and sweet potato muffins with honey butter."

  • "Ok I'm in Conyers, and need lunch. I check yelp and Coaxums comes up? Ok I'll give it a try, glad I did! Service super friendly, employee suggestions was Cajun pasta. Ok I try it and it was one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time! The portion was large and had a large amount of crawfish in it. Walked out stuffed for $9.00 plus tax and tip!"

  • "Nice spot off I20. Friendly service. Tasty food. Prepared to your exact specifications. I found the questions about onions cooked with green beans annoying, my Aunt appreciated the server's detailed explanation. The server seemed prepared to deal with even the most particular patron. I'm ok with most everything so this was a bit of overkill for me."
